Astrolace: Draw Your Own Sky
Effective 8 November 2026

Astrolace is a slingshot game about drawing constellations. It is free to download. The only purchase is Astrolace+, a one-time unlock of unlimited play. There is no subscription and no advertising. The game has no account of its own; signing in to Game Center or Google Play Games is optional.

Data that stays on the device

Progress (the constellations found and drawn, scores, stats, cores, items exchanged, and achievements), settings (sound, music, vibration, language, constellation-name language, and the city used for the real sky), how many runs were played today, and whether Astrolace+ is unlocked are stored on the device.

The city used to work out the real sky is picked from a list in the app or guessed from the device’s time zone. The app does not use GPS and does not ask for location permission.

On iPhone and iPad, the number of runs played each day and the date of the first run are also kept in the device Keychain, so the free tier’s daily limits do not reset when the app is deleted and installed again. This is only numbers and dates, nothing that identifies a person.

Game Center and Google Play Games

When signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), the app uses that service to:

  • post Daily Sky scores and weekly totals to leaderboards, where other players see the score with that account’s nickname and profile picture;
  • record achievements;
  • keep a copy of progress in the cloud (Play Games Saved Games, or iCloud) so it carries over to a new device. Sound, language, and city settings are not uploaded.

This data is held by Apple or Google under their own policies. The developer sees the leaderboards the way any player does, with each player’s nickname and the service’s player id, but never a real name or email. Without signing in, the whole game still plays, only without leaderboards and cloud save.

The one-time purchase

Payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store. The developer never sees a card number, bank account, or store account.

To tell whether this install owns Astrolace+, and to restore that purchase after a reinstall, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives only:

  • a random app user id, not a name, email, or Google or Apple account;
  • the store receipt or purchase token, so the one-time product can be verified;
  • technical details that come with that check, such as the operating system, app version, and device language.

This is used to unlock Astrolace+ and to manage the purchase, including whether it succeeded, was refunded, or should be restored. It is not sold and it is not used for ads. The check runs when the app looks up ownership, and it cannot be switched off inside the app.

Sharing images

Constellation images are made on the device and leave it only when you tap share, going to the app you pick in the system share sheet.

Internet

The game can be played offline, and progress stays on the device. The internet is used for leaderboards, achievements, cloud save, showing the price, buying, and restoring a purchase.

What the app does not do

  • It does not ask for a name, email, or phone number.
  • It does not use GPS, and it does not collect contacts, photos, messages, audio, or files.
  • It shows no ads and has no separate gameplay analytics.
  • Players cannot message each other.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Deletion

  • On-device data is removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it.
  • The run count in the iPhone or iPad Keychain stays after the app is deleted, and is removed when the device is erased (Erase All Content and Settings).
  • Progress in the cloud can be deleted in the Google Play Games settings, or under iCloud storage in the Apple account settings.
  • Leaderboard scores are managed in the Game Center or Google Play Games settings.
  • To ask for the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat to be deleted, email the address below. The developer will delete that customer in RevenueCat. After that, the old id can no longer restore the purchase automatically. A receipt that is still with Google Play or the App Store can still restore it.

Service providers

Data sent off the device is encrypted in transit.
